Tim Clark
Looking like a near spitting image of mad "world number one referee" Pierluigi Collina - well, no one else could look quite exactly that mad! Tim Clark is one of the unsung giants and heroes of British comedy.
He's a giant because he's nearly seven foot tall, and he's hero because not only is he great comic, and has been for many years, but he is also the king of the comperes.
As The Guardian said about him: "Comperes are the unsung heroes of stand-up comedy. The current master of this underrated art is Tim Clark."
With his footballing lookalike heritage, it should be no surprise that Tim has made much of his name on the sporting side of humour. He has appeared as co-host both Under The Moon for Channel 4 and Capital Gold's Saturday sports show, as well as appearing regularly with Danny Baker on Radio 5's Morning Edition, Radio 1's Loose Talk and as a contributor on Skinner and Baddiel's Fantasy Football.
He was also commissioned to write a play about football fans for Channel 4, The Beautiful Game, which was enthusiastically received. But it's not all sport. Tim's cult status continued to rise when he became the patient and personable "grim reaper" of Virgin Atlantic's award-winning ad campaign.
He has also hosted the BBC's classic game show, Give Us A Clue, featured as a know-it-all panellist on That's Show business, and written speeches for former England football manager Graham Taylor, the future Prime Minister Gordon Brown MP and numerous other TV presenters.
